Mentoring Program

Poudre School District

Poudre School District’s Mentoring Program was recognized as one of the best in the state for giving new educators a successful start in their careers. As program specialist, I developed and implemented a communications strategy to support new employees from the date of their hire through completion of the state-required induction program. This communications strategy blended technical resources, informative messages, and morale-boosting engagements through print, email, and social channels.

New Educator Orientation

Each August, Poudre School District welcomes more than 100 new educators. The New Educator Guide, given at the point of hire, provides the information teachers and specialized service professionals need for a successful start in the district.

Poudre School District Induction

PSD’s state-approved induction program spanned three years, including a two-year mentoring partnership and a culminating presentation in the third year. All new educators received detailed communications to guide them through each step of the process.

Mentoring Minute

The Mentoring Program regularly engaged with new educators through mailings, social media, and email. The intention behind the Mentoring Minute was to provide busy teachers with useful information they could read in one minute or less.
